It is a gift of love in sound and vision. Oceans, deserts, heavens, and all things in between connect to form a divine sense of light that seduces the eyes, transforms the mind, and speaks to the heart. It is from an emerging genre format media we will call music visual narrative content or expressive media.

We are at a most remarkable time in history. Less than 150 years ago humanity harnessed the invisible power of electricity and also fossil fuels. Since then a technological evolution has exploded from simple Morse Code to the World Wide Web. Our ability to share images, stories, information, and ideas as it advances at a pace that is breathtaking, and think about the impact the first pictures of the earth that I knew. Think about the impact they’ve had on global consciousness and power. Media and the arts do have powers Rick Stephens mentioned in his presentation, and what is power but the ability to affect or inhibit change to create action. We know that the media and the entertainment industry spends millions and millions of dollars on commercials and content that influences our behaviour. Inherent in this potential is also the power to transform. Let’s look at media from the four-fold perspective of the whole system itself.

From a Physical Perspective

From a physical perspective, media can train us and put us in a state of receptivity. When we focus our attention on it, whether it’s art or theatre or in front of a small screen, we are training ourselves, and training ourselves to pay attention to the delivered content. It can put us in an altered state. Science itself, work being done by neuroscientists and biologists as well as researchers in science, are proving both the positive and negative effects of music, colors and imaging on the brain.

From an Emotional Perspective

Emotionally we all know that recent stories, music and images can touch us. Mentally media can teach us a new form on a cognitive level, also bringing to light environmental and social issues of concern. And when we add transformational elements to the list; media and the arts can reach us at a spiritual or soul level, specific content, angelic content and archetypal symbols.

Transformation is directed change for evolution. We can find transformative stories both in non-fiction and fiction, drama or myth. What we might call transformative content is content designed to communicate more esoteric teachings; systems of transformation or other transformational visual stories could aid in accelerating humanity’s transformation. New paradigm stories might be ones that combine science and cognitive content with romance story.

egypt-203x300An example is what was done so successfully in the recent docudrama called “What the Bleep.” Take a look at a clip from this piece which is from the documentary called “The Great Year,” by Walter Cunnington. That piece was actually a clip from a documentary that discusses the areas of humanity’s progression of various levels of enlightenment and consciousness and it’s quite fascinating.

So throughout humanity’s evolution we have moved from the seven lively arts to emergent media and technology which now gives us an even greater ability to disseminate and expand these ideas to a wider audience. There are new objects that are being created at an exponential rate. From radio, film, television, DVDs; we now have the Internet, cell phones, gaming and interactive media and the magic of digital effects and graphics to help us communicate our stories, images, and ideas. They afford us the technology needed to make and distribute content which has resulted in a democratization of media and now even an individual person may distribute content.

Chance Gardner and Magical Egypt

For example, Chance Gardner, who’s been so kind to offer his services and shoot today’s event, has made a series of documentaries called “Magical Egypt, A Symbolist Tour,” which explores the more esoteric or hidden mysteries of Egypt. Chance uses computer graphics and effects to communicate powerful concepts. So from the past to the future to the present, we recognize the incredible opportunity we all now have to digitally disseminate and reflect these ideas in more abstract concepts of wisdom and truth that existed as the primordial wisdom, and science is starting to quantify and offer proof of the value of these ancient truths and practices.

c3logo-300x112The Center for Conscious Creativity was formed as a service project catalyzed by conscious studies, meditation and much of the wisdom found in the curriculum “Nature of the Soul” which Georgia Lambert teaches. Phillip Horvath and I co-founded the center and it is our mission to synergize and raise emergent consciousness by bringing together consciousness experts and futurists with artists and media makers who can express these ideas in their work.We co-produced a conference called “Storytelling and the future of content.” We were also involved in creating and promoting a transmedia conference such as the “Great Idea,” a column that focuses on the creative process in manifestation. It can be found both in Script Magazine and on the Ziegfried website and will soon be shot as a pilot for a TV series.

We’re also working on a piece with an artisan composer. It is called Mediscare, the altered state of Heart. It was first a book, then a website graphic, and now we are working to make it a music visual piece. While an original musical piece is being composed; to accompany this visual we dubbed in a wonderful cut from a CD called “Fixed the Human.” To demonstrate the piece for you today I call this “Visual Yoga.” And what we’ve done is restore the artists interpretation of the etheric body in cleansing the chakras and re-created a kundalini experience utilizing a computer program called “flash.” And finally from the inner world to the outer world we are also involved in helping to promote a pilot for a potential series called “The Science of Peace.” We look forward to ideas and input about how media can affect the Future of Consciousness and we are thrilled to be a part of this project.
