a drop of waterJust as a single drop of water ripples out onto a pond, our actions ripple out into the world. We hope that you will accept our invitation and create an unbreakable chain reaction of human kindness throughout the world. Your random acts of kindness are helping to transform the world. Our goal for these events is to create a spark that will produce a fire that will blaze the world with compassion.

One Kind Deed is Free

It doesn’t cost anything to participate in One Kind Deed. So please mark this date on your calendars so you can help us reach our next goal of 10,000 people sharing acts of kindness and having fun transforming the world with One Kind Deed.

While this is being hosted on the internet, this is not meant to be just an online movement; commit to acts of kindness in the real world. Spread the Word: Send out an invitation to everyone you know and ask them to participate.  Also ask them to forward the invitation on to as many family members, friends and groups they know, so they may participate too. Share Your Stories: Post your stories on the Institute For Global Transformation’s™ Facebook community page by Clicking Here and please do not forget word of mouth, which is an equally powerful sound.

Transforming the World One Kind Deed at a Time

Just as a single drop of water ripples out onto a pond, our actions ripple out into the world. We hope that you will accept your invitation and create an unbreakable chain reaction of human kindness throughout the world. Your random acts of kindness will help transform the world. Our mission is for this event to create a spark that will produce a fire that will blaze the world with compassion.

George-TakeiGeorgi Takei and One Kind Deed:

George Takei, actor and author, best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu, helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the television series Star Trek participated in this event.

The response was overwhelming. In just six short days, over 1,200 people globally, made a commitment to carry out acts of kindness and compassion. Through their stories of inspiration and motivation, it became quickly apparent that the world is ready for change and even more so, that the change lies inside each of us. Eventually, 3,806, yes that’s 3,806 people participated in this event. Their stories were amazing, heartwarming and sometimes funny. Thanks to each of you who took time to make another person’s life a little easier or happier. Let’s keep this going in 2016; YOU’RE THE BEST!

Take part in One Kind Deed and Help Transform the World

You’re being invited because your participation is considered an honor by the person, or people who invited you. We’re asking you for just one thing- that you join us on this date, from wherever you are, and give freely to one other person the love that’s in your heart. There is no cost for this; there are no requirements and no limitations. You might speak to someone you wouldn’t normally, listen to, someone that needs to be heard; meet the neighbors you see every day but never introduced yourself to; smile at a stranger or reach out in a small way; just connect with someone.

We are surrounded by the atrocities of violence, discrimination, inequality and poverty beyond comparison. We are beaten down and tired of the bad news. We are frustrated at the lack of control over these situations. We are heartbroken from the effects they have on our personal lives, the lives of our loved ones, or those with whom we have never met. We may not always have a choice to stop a bad thing, but we always have a choice to start a kind thing.

Remember that the potential of a single act of compassion grows and spreads. This is the metamorphosis of compassion; each action will transform itself into something new through the lives we reach. The beauty of this event is that any time throughout the day, when you are ready to give compassion, you will know that we are with each other.  Don’t forget that all it takes is – One Kind Deed. Thank you for helping to transform the world One Kind Deed at a time. You’re awesome.

Past Public Service Projects

Vial For Life Project:

Renée Luczynski, Public Services Department Chair developed the Vial for Life program. This program was a wonderful and acknowledged way of making the choice to live more securely. the plastic pill bottle came with the label Vial for Life. Inside the bottle was a red magnet that also said: Vile for Life. It was to be placed on the refrigerator door and the bottle was to be placed inside the refrigerator, on the top shelf. A sheet of paper, inside the bottle, listed emergency contacts, doctors, all the meds the person currently took, and a list of questions about allergies, diabetes, etc. On the back of the paper was a list of additional contacts, to be filled in, other important information, and where it could be found.

All of this information and phone numbers may not seem important to you right now, but could one day help you or your family when you least expect it. Everything is just a vial away and could literally save your life!

If the Vial for Life program was not available in the person’s area, they could Order a Vial for Life, from the IFGT. The suggested donation was $10, which would cover the supplies needed to make the product as well as shipping and handling. This was only available in the USA). To order the Vile for Life, PayPal was used.
